Dear Jasper ISD Families:
We hope you are safe and well this summer. With the start of school comes uncertainty and questions, but one thing remains constant – JISD’s commitment is to provide a safe learning opportunity that enables our students to meet the challenges of their future.

The JISD Board of Trustees, district administration, JISD Reopening Team, and our Home Learning Team have been working diligently to develop a plan for returning to school in August. We want to provide you with our Safe Return to School Plan. While we have some local control over our choices and the options we offer, the State and Texas Education Agency (TEA), SY 20-21 Public Health Planning Guidance) are the ultimate authorities on most of what school districts can do. We must follow the guidelines and expectations they put in place. Our plan will constantly be evaluated and updated as we learn of these and we will update our plan on the JISD website. One thing, we know, we must be flexible with our plans; we appreciate your grace and support as changes become necessary.
Please know, the health of our students and staff is absolutely our top concern. We will take every possible precaution, following the recommendations from medical experts, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as our state and local health officials. We will abide by any Governor Order or Local Order as it relates to the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
Your student will have two learning options when we return to school, In-Person and At-Home. Beginning Monday, July 21, Online Registration for current JISD students will open in Family Access. While completing the online forms you will find your commitment form, 20-21 Method of Instruction Collection. Please select In-Person or At-Home Learning for your child by August 4, 2020, so that we may determine staffing and instructional needs for all.
- In-Person Learning: Students will attend school on a regular instructional schedule and will engage in face-to-face learning on campus during school hours.
- At-Home Learning: Students will remain at home and will engage in learning activities that are primarily delivered through an online learning management system. This is offered for our families who have health and safety concerns with sending their children back to school.
As more information becomes available or as plans change, we will update our JISD website.
We are proud to partner with you in the education of our students!
