School safety and security is a really, really, really GOOD THING!
Jasper ISD is proud to announce that after many months of work, planning, preparation, and paperwork, the JISD Police Department is a fully functioning law enforcement agency and is already doing great things to ensure the safety of all JISD students and staff. Just some of the activities include:
- Nurses and School Resources Officers attended a Region 5 training on Fentanyl Awareness and Opioid Overdose Response Training for School Staff on September 24th, 2025.
- Partnered with The East Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (ETCADA) to provide onsite training to the Nurses, Athletic Trainer, and School Resource Officers on the use of Naloxone on October 2nd, 2025. ETCADA also donated multiple vials of the fast-acting medication.
Dr. Joshua Hadnot serves as the JISD Chief of Police. Under his leadership, each campus is staffed with a School Resource Officer:
- High School-Officer Charles Runnels
- Junior High-Officer John Hardin
- Parnell Elementary-Officer Frank Erimias
- Few Primary-Officer Kay Garton

***IMPORTANT REMINDER***
Jasper ISD is conducting a Reunification Drill on Friday October 10th, 2025, from 9am-11 am. The drill will involve JISD Staff and local first responders. This is a drill and NOT a live event.

- Jr. High Band got to work with the high school band at last Friday night’s football game and did a spectacular job
- The Jasper Junior High Capturing Kids' Hearts Traction visit on October 1 went very well and good things are expected from the continued partnership
- The Few Primary PTO held their first meeting to make plans for the year. Volunteers are valued and appreciated!
