The Jasper Independent School District Board of Trustees chose Dr. Jimmy Creel to once again serve as Interim Superintendent.

Dr. Creel, who is a resident of College Station and an assistant professor at Lamar University, served as interim superintendent at JISD in 2008.

The Beaumont Foundation is pleased to announce that Jimmy Grimes of Rowe Intermediate was named as a recipient of  the 2012 Excellence in Education Award as part of its ongoing commitment to support education. The Awards were created to celebrate and recognize superior contributions of teachers whose leadership and dedication inspire a spirit of learning. The program provides public recognition and financial rewards to educational professionals who are furthering excellence in education. Mr. Grimes received $10,000 and was recognized at an awards gala in May.
