Parental Involvement

Every spring the District and Campus Site Based Committees write a long range plan with goals and objectives for the following year. The number one goal in all of the plans is to increase parental involvement. We encourage you to be full partners with us in the education of your children.

This can be accomplished in a multitude of ways.

• The principal of each campus welcomes your visit. Please make arrangements to visit with the classroom teacher any time you have a question or concern. Email is a very convenient way to stay in touch if a personal visit is out of the question.
• Contact the principal or your child's classroom teacher for opportunities to volunteer in the classroom
• Check your child’s homework assignments. Ask them questions about what they discussed in class.
• Provide many opportunities for your child to read or be read to.
• Join the parent organization PRIDE.
• View your child's grades, absences, etc. in Parent Access

The statewide assessment test will be given in the spring. If we all work together in preparing our students for this test, JISD students should excel.
