ANCHOR CLUB
The Anchor Club is a service organization sponsored by the Pilot
Club. Proceeds from various fund-raising activities help benefit
people with brain-related disorders and promote community
activities.
BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA (BPA)
BPA provides the opportunity for the development of leadership
skills, personal and professional growth, and career-related
competencies. Involvement in BPA will enhance social awareness,
civic responsibility and understanding of the business community.
DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUBS OF AMERICA (DECA)
DECA enhances the co-curricular education of students in marketing,
management and entrepreneurship. DECA helps students develop skills
and competence for marketing, build self esteem, experience
leadership and practice community service.
FAMILY, CAREER & COMMUNITY LEADERS OF AMERICA (FCCLA)
FCCLA is an organization for students who are enrolled and have been
enrolled in a Family and Consumer Science class in junior or high
school. It is the only in-school organization with the family as its
central focus. The organization operates through a national
organization of 240,000 members affiliated through the 53 state
organizations.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES
The purpose of FCA is to provide Christian fellowship and leadership
for athletes and coaches. Membership is open to all athletes at
Jasper High School or anyone interested in athletics.
HEALTH OCCUPATIONS STUDENTS OF AMERICA (HOSA)
HOSA is a club for students enrolled in Health Science Technology.
Students are involved in developing leadership skills, promoting
community service projects and enjoying social activities.
KEY CLUB
A service club for students sponsored by the Jasper Noon Kiwanis
Club. Any student with an average of 80 or above is eligible for
membership.
LEO CLUB
A service club for students sponsored by the Jasper Evening Lions
Club. Any student with an average of 80 or above is eligible for
membership.
LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD
A teen advisory board will actively involved with the library all
year and will help our library to become truly student-oriented. One
of the goals will be to encourage the students at JHS to become
life-long readers and learners. The teen advisory board will met
before or after school once a month to help with library decisions
and activities such as book selection, video selection, bulletin
boards, student and teacher contests, book reviews, community
service, public relations and other projects.
NATIONAL FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA ORGANIZATION (FFA)
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by
developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth
and career success through agricultural education.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY (NHS)
The object of the National Honor Society is to promote academic
excellence through scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Membership is based upon these qualities and a grade average of 90
or above.
RODEO CLUB
Available to students who have a keen interest in Rodeo activities,
and are members of the Texas High School Rodeo Association.
SPANISH CLUB
The Spanish Club is an organization for high school students, which
reinforces the student’s knowledge about the Hispanic culture,
through celebrations like Cinco de Mayo. By encouraging other
students to participate in our cultural celebrations, we are able to
help sponsor worthwhile causes like Project Graduation.
STUDENTS AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS (SADD)
An organization dedicated to the safety of others. Students Against
Driving Drunk do service projects throughout the year to make other
classmates aware of the dangers involved with driving while
intoxicated, such as citations, injuries or death.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The voice of student government at Jasper High School is the Student
Council. The council speaks for the students in school activities
and educational programs. Elected representatives, alternates, and
officers make up membership of the organization.
TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF FUTURE EDUCATORS (TAFE)
The purpose of TAFE is to prepare, train, and promote the joys and
satisfaction of teaching. Any student with an average of 80 or above
is eligible for membership.
THESPIAN SOCIETY
Devoted to the promotion and participation in theater and theater
related activities. Club members participate in drama festivals
throughout the year. Drama Club is open to all students interested
in theater.
UIL LITERARY AND ATHLETIC EVENTS
Students who can excel in literary and athletic events are
encouraged to participate in UIL activities. Students are eligible
under the rules of the University Interscholastic League.
VICA: AUTO TECHNICIAN, BUILDING TRADES, WELDING
VICA provides experiences for students in leadership, teamwork,
citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces
self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It
emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior
work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work.
VOLUNTARY MORNING DEVOTIONAL
The purpose is to provide time before the school day for students to
meet, to share and to have Christian fellowship. Membership is open
to all students.
